Moda54
Summary

A multi-brand fashion e-commerce platform combining brand identity, Shopify development and ongoing digital management.

Project Overview

I designed the brand identity and built the Moda54 Shopify e-commerce website, creating a premium digital platform for discovering and shopping African and Black-owned fashion and lifestyle brands. I also managed and maintained the website for eight months, handling updates, content, products and ongoing improvements to the experience. The platform brings together multiple designers and collections across clothing, accessories, beauty and lifestyle, with dedicated brand pages, curated collections and category-based shopping. The current store includes designer-led collections alongside curated sections such as Bestsellers, Going Viral, Occasion Wear and Editor's Picks.

Case Study

Moda54 was created to give African and Black-owned fashion and lifestyle brands a stronger platform to reach customers through a curated online shopping experience. The project required more than simply building a storefront—the platform needed a clear brand identity and an e-commerce structure that could support multiple independent brands and collections.

I started by developing the Moda54 brand identity, establishing the visual direction and foundation for the digital platform. The identity needed to feel contemporary and premium while leaving enough flexibility for the different designers and products that would appear across the store.

I then designed and developed the Shopify e-commerce platform, structuring the experience around discovery. Rather than treating the site as a single-brand store, I designed the information architecture around categories, designers and curated collections. Visitors can browse clothing categories such as dresses, pants, skirts, knitwear, resort wear, bodysuits, denim and matching sets, while also discovering individual designers and curated selections.

A key part of the experience was making the multi-brand structure feel organised rather than overwhelming. Designer pages provide space for individual brands to tell their story and present their collections, while the wider platform brings those products together through curated shopping experiences. The current platform includes brands such as Hertunba, Jenutua, Moelle Zavian, Flaunt Archive, Rendoll, Ruks Á La Mode, Scqueeze and Winara.

I also took responsibility for managing and maintaining the website for eight months. This included keeping products and collections updated, managing content, maintaining the Shopify experience and making ongoing adjustments as the platform evolved.

The result is a scalable fashion marketplace experience that combines a distinct brand with a structured Shopify store and an ongoing content and e-commerce management system. The platform is designed to make discovering emerging designers feel more like curated fashion discovery than a conventional online catalogue.
